THE LEONARD PROJECT "Peer Review Impact - Ensuring the impact of Peer Review to improve the provision of VET in Europe, 2009-2011"

Objectives

The project aims at an innovation transfer and a cross-fertilisation between the REVIMP project and the Peer Review projects. In particular, it intends to

  • Enhance the understanding of the interplay between institutional quality assurance systems, external evaluations and institutional development/improvement of VET provision;

  • Optimise the effectiveness of external evaluations in VET, especially of the newly developed Peer Review methodology;

  • Improve further the European Peer Review methodology;

  • Transfer the results of REWIMP project to other sectors, target groups and countries.

  • Contribute to the implementation of EQARF by focusing on the “review phase” as the crucial element for improvement on the institutional level of VET (and ultimately also on the system level)..

Partnership

The partnership will consist of public bodies, research institutions/universities and VET Providers. Other stakeholders – like representatives of social partners, European networks and institutions, institutions of Higher Education – are integrated as supporting institutions into an extended network.

The coordinator of the project is Finnish National Board of Education and there are partners from Austria, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands.

Products

  • Peer Review Impact Analysis Report

    Analysis of 14 transnational European Peer Reviews carried out in eight European countries 2006-2009. The analysis report is a main source of information in the development of the Peer Review Impact Guidelines and the PR Impact Follow-up Guide. 

  • Peer Review Impact Guidelines

    Main target group of the Guidelines are VET Providers, Peers and Authorities. The main aim of the Peer Review Impact Guidelines is to help VET providers, institutions and training centres to set up and carry out Peer Reviews and help them to focus in all phases of the Peer Review process and after the Peer Review on activities and structures promoting the impact.

    The Draft of the Peer Review Guidelines will be ready for piloting in January 2011 and the Final Draft version in June 2011 for the finalization. The Peer Review Impact Guidelines will be available in languages of the partner countries and in English both in a paper and as a web version. 

  • The Peer Review Impact Assessment Tool

    Main target group of the Follow-Up are VET Providers and Peers.

    The Peer Review Impact Assessment Tool promotes the impact of Peer Reviews by helping the follow-up during the whole Peer Review process. 

  • Seminar/Workshop for VET Providers on how to use the Peer Review Impact Guidelines

    A workshop will be organised in every partner country. The workshop concept and training material will be available in electronic format on Website after October 2011. 

  • Transfer strategy paper

    To promote the dissemination of the final results including experiences of the project the transfer strategy will be made for every partner country.
